South St. Paul Educational Foundation provides nearly a half-million in scholarships to the Class of 2019
May 9, 2019 – On Wednesday, May 8, the South St. Paul Educational Foundation (SSPEF) held its annual Scholarship Banquet at the Secondary building. This year, a total of $441,600 scholarships were awarded to 143 seniors, amounting to over 70 percent of the Class of 2019 receiving a local scholarship.
“We are so fortunate in our community to have such a strong, thriving educational foundation,” said Superintendent Dave Webb. “What an amazing gift they give every year, supporting so many of our students with scholarships to help them pursue their post-secondary goals. That is indeed Packer Pride.”
School Board member and SSP graduate Wendy Felton echoed Webb’s appreciation for the generous support of the SSPEF. “To have a community the size of South St. Paul offering nearly a half-million dollars in scholarships in one year is just incredible,” she said. “This is something the entire community should be really proud of.”
Since 1984, the South St. Paul Educational Foundation has presented over $5,500,000 to South St. Paul graduates to aid in their post-secondary education.
