Fall Planning for Three Learning Scenarios for Fall

Planning for three learning scenarios for the 2020-21 school year

Last week the Minnesota Department of Education released its guidance for school districts to plan for three scenarios for the 2020-21 school year. The three scenarios include in-person learning at school, distance learning from home or a hybrid, which is a combination of in-person and distance learning. MDE will announce the scenario that all school districts will start the school year with by the week of July 27. Due to the uncertainty of the scenarios and how the COVID-19 pandemic will continue to impact our world, we are encouraging families to prepare for all three scenarios to be put into place at some point during the 2020-21 school year. We need your feedback

Using the health guidelines from the state, district leaders and staff have started planning for each scenario as well as how to handle athletics and activities, meal service, transportation, student support services and many other logistics. To help guide their work, we are gathering feedback from families about their experience during distance learning this spring and their comfort level with a range of options for starting school this fall. Please complete this survey by noon on Monday, June 29 to help us plan for the start of the 2020-21 school year.
