Parent involvement is the heart of the student achievement. Research overwhelmingly shows that parent involvement is positively related to student achievement and success. The more parents are involved, the greater the achievement effects.
American Indian Parent Advisory Board
The group serves as a vital link between the American Indian community and SSPPS to ensure that American Indian students are receiving culturally relevant and equitable educational opportunities. The committee is a valuable component in the pursuit of achievement and success for American Indian students districtwide.

The SSP Early Learning Advisory Council (ELAC) supports the school district's early childhood programs. Council members discuss and make recommendations for services and policies, while providing family perspectives that guide early learning decision making and program development. The group advocates for early education in the community, at the legislature and with other families. They also organize fundraising and volunteers to support programs.
