Information on the filing period for the upcoming school board election. The board is looking to fill five seats in this November's election.
School Board Election Filing Information
Community members interested in serving on the School Board may file for office during the candidate filing period:
Filing Dates: July 14, 2026 – July 28, 2026
Join us for an in-person information night July 9 at 6:00 pm at the SSPPS District Office (104 5th Ave S, SSP)
Candidates must file an Affidavit of Candidacy with the City Clerk’s Office at City Hall, located at 125 3rd Avenue North, no later than 5:00 p.m. on July 28, 2026.
School Board Seats on the November 2026 Ballot
Voters will elect:
Four (4) School Board Members
- Four-year terms
- Term begins January 2027
- Term ends January 2031
One (1) School Board Member
- Two-year term to complete the remainder of Ryan Duffy’s vacated seat
- Term begins immediately following the election
- Term ends January 2029
Serving on the School Board is an important opportunity to help guide district priorities, support student success, and represent the interests of the community. Residents interested in running for office are encouraged to review filing requirements and submit their candidacy during the filing period.
