Kaposia Education Center, part of South St. Paul Public Schools, has been awarded a $4,200 No Child Left Inside Grant from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) to support its project, Hooked on Learning: Connecting Students to Aquatic Ecosystems Through Fishing and Conservation.

The grant will provide students with engaging, hands-on learning experiences that explore aquatic ecosystems, conservation, and outdoor recreation. Through activities such as Trout in the Classroom, fishing field trip experiences, and environmental education, students will connect classroom science concepts with real-world stewardship of Minnesota's natural resources.

The project is designed to foster environmental awareness while giving students meaningful opportunities to learn outside the classroom and develop a lifelong appreciation for the state's lakes, rivers, and wildlife.

Support for this project is provided through the No Child Left Inside Grant Program, administered by the DNR.
