Summer Reminders for SSPPS Families
Summer Reminders for SSPPS Families
SSPPS Families,
As we kick off the start of summer break, we want to remind you of a few things going on in South St. Paul Schools for our families.
- Summer Meals for Kids
- This summer, South St. Paul Public Schools is partnering with The Open Door again to serve more students free meals in our community. The Open Door picks up meals and brings them to designated spots in the community and serves kids, ages 18 and under, where they are. We are also offering meals onsite at our summer class locations- SSP Secondary and Kaposia Education Center. Meal service begins Monday, June 17. You can view the locations and schedule on the SSPPS website.
- Summer Learning
- Middle School: There’s still space in Packer Preview and Middle School Summer Learning Academy in July. Packer Preview is for incoming 6th graders to learn more about middle school and feel comfortable in the building before fall. Middle School Summer Learning Academy is for students going into grades 7-8 to use the skills they practiced the past year in some fun hands-on learning experiences.
- Kindergarten Camp: Kindergarten camp is offered to incoming kindergarten students enrolled at South St. Paul Public Schools to help your child have a smooth transition into our school community. Kindergarten Camp is held at whichever elementary school your student is attending, Lincoln Center Elementary or Kaposia Education Center.
- Elementary School: Summer Learning Academy families- Classes begin Monday, June 17 at Kaposia Education Center from 8:45 am-12:45 pm. There is no class June 19 or the week of July 1-4. You should have received confirmation within the past week and will receive class assignments soon.
