SSP High School Students Pitch Innovative Business Ideas

Pitch winner

South St. Paul High School students in the Business and Entrepreneurship class recently showcased their creativity and business acumen during an exciting event in partnership with Revé Academy. All six students earned micro-internships, which provide financial assistance and mentorship to help them further develop their business concepts under the guidance of experienced business professionals.

The collaboration culminated in a pitch event where students presented their business proposals to a panel of local business and school leaders. This experience offered the chance to earn a competitive internship to expand their entrepreneurial ideas even further.

The journey began as a design challenge, where students identified pain points in everyday life and devised innovative solutions. They conducted thorough market research, prepared SWOT analyses, and created detailed presentations to support their concepts.

The panel of judges asked insightful questions and offered constructive feedback before selecting one student as the winner. Here's a look at the impressive business ideas:

  • Maverick and Gavin – M&G Rentals
Tackling the issue of limited space for vehicle repairs, Maverick and Gavin proposed a self-service car repair shop where customers can rent workspaces for their vehicles. The shop would feature an on-site licensed mechanic for guidance.

  • Ben – Mesupé Perfumery
Ben aimed to disrupt the fragrance industry by creating affordable, all-natural men's scents. He impressed the judges with samples of his eco-friendly fragrances designed for younger consumers.

  • Michel – Stealth Hunt (Contest Winner)
Inspired by the demand for a discontinued archery bag design, Michel developed an ergonomic bag that makes it easier for hunters to access their arrows. His innovation, blending ergonomic comfort with popular design elements, earned him the winning title.

  • Dorian – Jamee’s Bake Cake
Dorian envisioned a café-style bakery where teens and young adults could socialize. His bakery concept offers both special order baked goods and popular treats, with samples that wowed the judges.

  • Audrey – Kennectrs
Audrey addressed the challenge parents face in encouraging kids to try new foods. Her kid-friendly meal kits combine familiar dishes with creative dipping sauces to expand young palates. Judges provided helpful advice for marketing her idea to families.

  • Julian – Avant
Julian's Avant brand seeks to offer upscale yet affordable avant-garde clothing. His designs blend comfort with unique graphic elements, presented through an online store to reduce operational costs.

The event highlighted the students' dedication, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit. With financial support and mentorship from Revé Academy, these young innovators are well on their way to turning their business dreams into reality.
