Lincoln Center Elementary Named a 2025–26 Minnesota School of Excellence

Lincoln recognized for its strong academics, inclusive culture, and commitment to continuous improvement

Lincoln Center Elementary has been named a 2025–26 Minnesota School of Excellence by the Minnesota Elementary School Principals’ Association (MESPA). This honor is awarded to a select group of schools across Minnesota that demonstrate excellence in leadership, student learning, teacher collaboration, community engagement, and continuous growth.

The Minnesota School of Excellence designation affirms what families, students, and staff already know, Lincoln Center is a school where academic achievement and belonging go hand-in-hand. The recognition highlights the school’s commitment to preparing students not only for academic success but also for life in a diverse and changing world.

Former Principal Theresa Marty, who led the application process, shared:
“Becoming a Minnesota School of Excellence was important because it validated the intentional, rigorous work our staff engages in every day to ensure all students thrive. This designation not only celebrates the excellence already happening within our building, but also affirms our shared belief that every child deserves high-quality learning experiences supported by dedicated, innovative educators.”

At Lincoln Center, students benefit from a strong academic foundation paired with opportunities to think critically, solve problems, and collaborate. Teachers meet regularly to reflect on instruction, review student learning, and plan for growth. Staff also engage in professional development that supports equity, inclusion, and social-emotional learning, ensuring every child feels supported and valued.

About the School of Excellence Program

The Minnesota School of Excellence program is a one-to-two-year journey of reflection and growth. Schools are evaluated on six research-based standards of effective schools and reviewed by peers. The program emphasizes that excellence is not a single achievement, but an ongoing process of reflection, responsiveness, and shared commitment to improvement.
