Kaposia Students Plant Trees with Tree Trust

Students at Kaposia Education Center recently rolled up their sleeves and got their hands dirty in a schoolwide tree planting event, in partnership with the nonprofit organization Tree Trust.

As part of the event, every class at Kaposia participated in planting a tree on the school grounds. The experience not only provided students with a hands-on opportunity to learn about the environment and the importance of trees, but also encouraged a sense of ownership and community pride. Each class chose a name for their tree, which will be displayed on a custom name tag.

Tree Trust’s Learning with Trees™ program is a free program for Minnesota elementary and middle schools, funded by foundation grants and corporate sponsorships. Kaposia's Learning with Trees program was sponsored by the Beim Foundation.

About Tree Trust

Tree Trust, which has been working to grow a greener, healthier, and more equitable future for over 40 years, facilitated the planting. Their Community Forestry program aims to transform the urban landscape while educating youth and building stronger communities through tree planting and care.
