CLC Students Explore Wellness and Creativity at the Arboretum

Students from the Community Learning Center (CLC) recently turned a field trip into a fun and meaningful experience, blending friendly competition with a focus on wellness. As part of this year's Connections class, students have been working on personal growth and healthy living. On May 2, they visited the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum in Chaska, MN. There, they explored the practice of Shinrin Yoku, or “forest bathing,” a mindful way of connecting with nature to support mental health and overall well-being.

In addition to this calming experience, students participated in a photo contest, capturing images that reflected their time in nature. After the trip, all entries were submitted anonymously and students voted for their favorites. The top six finalists are now up for public vote, allowing the community to join in celebrating their creativity and perspective.
