Be kind, fair and just toward all people because of who we are.  Our classrooms and our schools must be safe places where emotions may be discussed respectfully and with kindness, compassion and support. As a community of learners, we need to listen and learn from different voices. We need to support one another and be there for each other in these trying times.

Provide equal access to opportunities in academics and student services. We ensure that our schools are a safe place. We value our students for who they are. We work so that our students feel welcome and respected. We remove barriers so that all students have access to the highest quality of learning. We need to show our students their voices are heard and that they are never alone.

We are honest and we hold strong to our morals. We know right from wrong and we act on it, even in the face of diversity. As educators we can encourage and remind our students to think before they act. Integrity is not always about being the loudest voice, but about setting the best example.

Excellence is not about being perfect, it’s about being the best person you can be. In this difficult time, it’s important for us to set this example. We are not perfect and we don’t expect perfectionism from those around us. We do expect each of us to be the best version of ourselves for our students, staff, and families.

Packers are tough. We can withstand adversity, bounce back, and even grow as individuals despite these challenging times. It’s important to remind ourselves and our students that we as a community have been through difficult situations and have come out stronger on the other side. We are #PackerStrong.

As Packers, we hope that you will be respectful of diverse opinions and perspectives. Honor similarities and differences in our assumptions, inquiries, words and actions. We support the rights of all to express their feelings and opinions, respectfully. While free speech and free expression are protected in our country and in our schools; hate speech and hateful acts are not. As educators, we will not shy away from the teachable moments that historic times bring. We use these opportunities to have conversations with our students about how we can resolve differences and conflicts. We need to be able to talk about diverse and sometimes conflicting ideology in a civil, respectful manner.
