Open Enrollment

Open enrollment is the period of time each plan year when benefit eligible employees can: enroll in medical or dental insurance; change their current medical or dental enrollment; and enroll/re-enroll in the flex spending plan for the next year. Changes made during open enrollment are effective January 1, 2023.

FLEXIBLE SPENDING ACCOUNTS (FSA)

A Flexible Spending Account (FSA) allows dollars to be deducted from your paycheck and deposited into a special account that’s protected from taxes. The money in an FSA can only be used for eligible health and/or dependent care expenses that are incurred while you are participating in the plan. The money does not carry-over past the current plan year, but the list of eligible items has expanded in recent years.

If you want a Flexible Spending Account in 2023, you must enroll or re-enroll using the form below and return it by 4:00 pm, November 3, 2023 to mmschmidt@sspps.org or Human Resources ATTN: Benefits.
