Educational Benefits

All families in the district must complete the educational benefits application (or opt out), regardless of income or eligibility. Applications for Educational Benefits are approved annually. To ensure a smooth transition of benefits, you will need to reapply for 2023-24 before the school year begins. Scroll down to see the many benefits that come with applying.

How to Apply or to Opt Out

  • Online using your www.schoolcafe.com account
  • Download and print a paper application or pick one up at your student's school
  • Call our nutrition services office at (651) 457-9429 to complete your application over the phone
  • Return all applications to your student's school or to the District Office at 104 5th St S, SSP
  • Hmong and Somali applications are available on School Cafe or in-person by request.

2023-24 Paper Educational Benefits Application

All information MUST be on the form, including the last four digits of your social security number (or check the box that there is no social security number), your address and telephone number. If your form is not complete, your application will be mailed back to you. You are responsible for the balance in your students account as your student is full paid until your application has been processed and qualified.

Emergency Broadband Program (EBB)
The Federal Communications Commission has launched a temporary program to help families and households struggling to afford Internet service during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Affordable Connectivity Program
The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) provides eligible households a discount off their monthly internet bills as well as a one-time discount off of an eligible connected device.

Internet Essentials Affordable Internet at Home Program

Minnesota Children’s Museum “All Play” Membership

Minnesota Energy Assistance

Minnesota Historical Society Limited Income Program

Minnesota Lifeline Discount Program

Minnesota Zoo Free to Explore Program

Q-Link Wireless Lifeline Program

Science Museum of Minnesota
Qualifying families receive discounted admission: $3 admission or $5 for the Omnitheater & museum. Visit smm.org/visit/hours-admission for more information.

The Works Museum

Transit Assistance Program (TAP)
