Early Childhood and Preschool Special Education
Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) programs provide support and services to infants, toddlers and preschool children with disabilities and their families. Eligibility is determined through an evaluation process, conducted by school staff, at no cost to parents. If a child is found eligible for special education services, an Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP) for children ages birth to three or an Individual Education Plan (IEP) for children ages three and older is written to address the child's special education needs. Parents are a part of the IFSP/IEP team.
How to refer a child: Anyone can make a referral for a child for whom there are concerns-parents, professionals, friends, family members, and others. They can contact the state-wide Help Me Grow referral system using the link below.

Infant and Toddler Intervention
Infant and Toddler Intervention provides special services and supports for eligible children birth through age two and their families. Eligible children are those with developmental delays or with certain diagnosed physical, or mental condition or disorder, that may result in delay. Parents and caregivers are an important partner in early intervention services, and these services are provided in natural environments, including home and child care settings.
While all young children grow and change at their own rate, some children experience delays in their development. Special health conditions may affect children's development too. Accessing early intervention services as early as possible will ensure the best developmental outcomes for these children.
