SSPPS Social Media Guidelines
The purpose of South St. Paul Public Schools’ social media channels (Facebook, X (Twitter), Instagram, and YouTube) is to share news, photos, and videos highlighting our district, students, schools, staff, and upcoming events. These platforms also provide an opportunity to connect with and engage our community in an open, respectful, and positive environment.
We encourage staff, students, families, and community members to join the conversation by liking, commenting on, and sharing content from our pages. To help ensure a safe and constructive experience for everyone, we ask that all users follow the guidelines below:
-
Keep comments appropriate: All comments and posts should be suitable for an educational setting and for community members of all ages.
-
No personal attacks or offensive content: Comments that are offensive, disrespectful, or target individuals or groups within the school district or community will not be tolerated. Inappropriate language or profanity may be removed, and repeat offenders may be blocked from our pages.
-
Do not share personal issues or private information: Our social media platforms are not a replacement for standard communication channels. While we strive to respond to general questions in a timely manner, comments regarding personal matters involving the district, a school, or a staff member may be removed. Please direct these concerns to communications@sspps.org.
-
Stay on topic: Comments should be relevant to the news, posts, or stories shared by the district.
-
No sales or solicitations: Posts promoting products, services, or sales of any kind are not permitted and will be removed.
