Communications

Before requesting our SSPPS logos, please take a minute to familiarize yourself with our SSPPS Brand Guidelines. The guidelines provide clear direction on how to use our  identity, including approved colors, fonts, and logo applications. Following these standards ensures we present a consistent and professional look across all schools, programs, and communications.

As you use our logos, please:

• Use only the official logo files provided by the Communications Office
• Do not alter or create your own versions of the logo
• Refer to the Brand Guidelines to ensure correct usage

Consistency matters. By using the official files and following the guidelines, we strengthen recognition, trust, and pride in SSPPS across our community.

To request official files email your name and organization/affiliation to communications@sspps.org. 

Pursuant to the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act and District Policy 722, members of the community may submit requests for public data by completing the Public Data Request form. Upon receiving a data request the district will confirm receipt and provide a tentative timeline and cost for fulfillment. For questions related to Public Data Requests please refer to the District’s Data Request Policy 722 or contact datarequest@sspps.org.

Throughout the school year students attend programs, activities, field trips and events along with normal classroom routines that support their education, promote community service or encourage positive behavior. District officials may visit your child’s school to cover these special events, and the South St. Paul Public School District may wish to use your child’s photographs, voices, likenesses or student work for promotional and educational reasons. This includes co-curricular activities/athletic program rosters, school yearbook, district/school newsletters, etc. 

If you wish to opt-out regarding the use of their child's name or image for school district and/or media purposes, please sign the Student Information Non-Release Agreement form and return completed form to your school building. This restriction is valid for one year and a new agreement must be signed for each school year.

SSPPS Social Media Guidelines

The purpose of South St. Paul Public Schools’ social media channels (Facebook, X (Twitter), Instagram, and YouTube) is to share news, photos, and videos highlighting our district, students, schools, staff, and upcoming events. These platforms also provide an opportunity to connect with and engage our community in an open, respectful, and positive environment.

We encourage staff, students, families, and community members to join the conversation by liking, commenting on, and sharing content from our pages. To help ensure a safe and constructive experience for everyone, we ask that all users follow the guidelines below:

• Keep comments appropriate: All comments and posts should be suitable for an educational setting and for community members of all ages.

• No personal attacks or offensive content: Comments that are offensive, disrespectful, or target individuals or groups within the school district or community will not be tolerated. Inappropriate language or profanity may be removed, and repeat offenders may be blocked from our pages.

• Do not share personal issues or private information: Our social media platforms are not a replacement for standard communication channels. While we strive to respond to general questions in a timely manner, comments regarding personal matters involving the district, a school, or a staff member may be removed. Please direct these concerns to communications@sspps.org.

• Stay on topic: Comments should be relevant to the news, posts, or stories shared by the district.

• No sales or solicitations: Posts promoting products, services, or sales of any kind are not permitted and will be removed.

Athletics and Activities

Groups affiliated with SSPPS can Tag @SSPPS6 on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter in your post. The communications specialist will review the tag and make an effort to approve it in a timely manner. Once approved your tag will be visible to followers of SSPPS.

Sports teams and activity groups can share their information with the South St. Paul Athletics and Activities Department to be posted on the SSP Athletics and Activities social media pages.

• Information will be posted under the discretion of the SSP Athletic and Activities Director
• The SSPPS Communications team does not manage athletic and activities related accounts but may share those posts on the district’s social media channels
