2023-2024 Clc e-Learning Day Plan & Schedule
eLearning Day “What” - An “eLearning day” refers to a school day when instead of coming to a school building, teachers and students communicate online using Google Meet, Schoology, our digital learning platform, and/or Odysseyware, our online learning software. Teachers share assignments and hold virtual meets, while students complete assignments and receive guidance and support from teachers.
eLearning Day “Why” - Our world is now largely digital, and having the skills to learn well online is preparing our students for their next steps, as the majority of post-secondary curriculum and business training are done in this manner. Since our teachers are still actively engaged with students, directing, overseeing, and supporting their work, eLearning days are a great transition step to this, helping to foster our future leaders.
eLearning Days “When” - eLearning days may be planned in advance or held in the event of unplanned school closures due to situations such as severe weather (i.e., snow) or a power outage.
How eLearning Days Work - If in the case of an emergency/unplanned day, parents/guardians will receive an automated phone call via the ParentSquare messenger service and announcements will be made on local radio and television stations, as well as on the school district web page, www.sspps.org, that school will be closed. Students should not report to school but should engage in eLearning activities as assigned.
E-Learning Day Instructions
- Teachers will have posted work in their Schoology courses
- Students should be checking their Schoology page(s) and completing the work for the assigned date.
- There will be a “check in” assignment for EACH course, including Connections.
- To prepare for the day and make a plan
- Students should attend Connections from 7:40-7:55am. This will be an open Google Meet with ALL CLC Teachers.
- For the remainder of the day, teachers will hold an open Google meet from 8:00am -12:00pm. There will be a lunch break from 12:00pm - 12:30pm. The open Google meet will resume again from 12:30pm - 2:30pm.
- The Google Meet Link will be in the student’s Connections Schoology.
