South St. Paul Schools will be providing school meals in accordance with the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program during the 2020-21 school year. School meals will be available at no charge to students enrolled in SSP this fall through the remainder of the school year. Funding for the meals comes from the USDA (Federal) Summer Food Service Program.
Students attending full in-person learning will receive meals, at no charge, in their classroom. In-person students will notify their teacher at the beginning of the day if they need a hot lunch. Lunches will be served in individually wrapped selections or it will be pre-plated.
All families are still encouraged to complete an Application for Educational Benefits, since any approval of benefits will carry over after this waiver expires through the 2020-21 school year.

Will school meals be provided?
Yes, South St. Paul Schools will be providing school meals in accordance with the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program during the 2020-21 school year. Seven days of meals (breakfast and lunch) will be provided for all students.

How will my student get their meals?
Meals will need to be picked up twice per week with the following options:
The first meal box (three days of breakfast/lunch) can be picked up on:
- Mondays from 3:30-5:30pm at SSP Secondary; OR
- Tuesdays from 11:00am-1:00pm at Kaposia, Lincoln, or SSP Secondary
The second meal box (four days of breakfast/lunch) can be picked up on:
- Thursdays from 3:30-5:30pm at SSP Secondary; OR
- Friday from 11:00am-1:00pm at Kaposia, Lincoln, or SSP Secondary

Where and when do I pick up meals during distance learning?
Students can pick up meals at any of the three locations during the times alotted.
Lincoln Center: Main Entrance
- Tuesdays from 11:00am-1:00pm
- Friday from 11:00am-1:00pm
Kaposia: Main Entrance
- Tuesdays from 11:00am-1:00pm
- Friday from 11:00am-1:00pm
Secondary: Door #7 (facing 6th ave N)
- Mondays from 3:30-5:30pm OR

Will the meal boxes cost money during distance learning?
School meals will be available at no charge to South St. Paul children ages birth-18 for the remainder of the school year. Funding for the meals comes from the USDA (Federal) Summer Food Service Program, which gives the district flexibility to serve seven meals each week. All families are still encouraged to complete an Application for Educational Benefits, since any approval of benefits will carry over after this waiver expires through the 2020-21 school year.
