School Board Election 2020
Six candidates file for district’s school board election
Wednesday, August 12, 2020 - Six community members have filed to be candidates for the South St. Paul School Board. The election will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2020, and three candidates will be elected to serve on the seven-member board.
The six candidates for the SSPPS School Board include:
- Bernie Beermann
- Colinda Blackbird
- Nikki Laliberte
- Jeff McClellan
- John Raasch
- Monica Weber
The three seats up for election are currently held by Jeff McClellan, Nikki Laliberte and Patty Bjorkland. The terms of these three school board seats are expiring in January 2021.
Congratulations to the newly-elected School Board Members
Nov. 13, 2020 -- Official results reveal residents elected the following three 4-year term South St. Paul Public Schools School Board members in the Nov. 3 General Election:
- Nikki Laliberte (incumbent) with 4,587 votes,
- Monica Weber with 3,692 votes,
- John Raasch with 2,924 votes.
Election Results were certified at the Nov. 12, 2020 school board meeting. They will begin serving their new term Jan. 1, 2021, joining board members Bill Arend, Linda Diaz, Wendy Felton and Chris Walker.
