Community Learning Sessions
District to host Community Learning Sessions on School Start Times
As previously shared, the School Board approved the review of our district’s school start and end times. As a result, a small committee has begun to plan for a series of Community Learning Sessions to understand what research says about the most appropriate school start times for student learning; how our start and end times compare to those districts in our conference and across the state; and what possibilities or implications exist should school start and end times change for our students, families and staff.
Parents, students and staff are invited to attend the following series of learning sessions. It is important to understand that different topics will be reviewed and discussed at each of these sessions:
- Monday, March 19, 6:30 p.m. at Lincoln Center Elementary
- Thursday, April 12, 6:30 p.m. at Kaposia Education Center
- Thursday, April 26, 6:30 p.m. at South St. Paul Secondary
- Wednesday, May 23, 6:30 p.m. at South St. Paul Secondary
Preliminary information about the review that is underway, including existing research, is available here.
